Koh Ishifune | Fossil Of Pain

Essence of love is nothing but pain
Fresh wounds in mind keep bleeding like rain
The deeper the scars get the longer they remain
Time transforms them to a fossil of pain

Koh Ishifune from Osaka / Tokyo, Japan, is a poet. A poet of pain and pleasure, not only through his poetry, but just as well in his bondage work and his photography. By combining Kinbaku bondage with flowers (and sometimes snakes, butterflies and needles) he creates hauntingly beautiful arrangements. Most of his images show his models in carefully composed Shibari, but there are also pieces that focus on pain. Yet, even his most brutal works with needles and fishing-hooks are as beautiful as a flower arrangement. Koh Ishifune presents a huge selection of his photographs, many of them with his signature rope in crimson red, on his tumblr Fossil of Pain. His excellent executed bondage work, shot in perfectly composed photographs put him in a league with artists like Nobuyoshi Araki.
